Renaissance period in art history.
Who? Leonardo DaVinci Leonardo da Vincipronunciation(help·info)), (April 15, 1452 – May 2, 1519), was an Italianpolymath: painter, sculptor, architect, musician, scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, botanist and writer. Leonardo has often been described as the archetype of the Renaissance man, a man whose unquenchable curiosity was equaled only by his powers of invention.[1] He is widely considered to be one of the greatest painters of all time and perhaps the most diversely talented person ever to have lived.[2] According to art historian Helen Gardner, the scope and depth of his interests were without precedent and "his mind and personality seem to us superhuman, the man himself mysterious and remote".[1] Marco Rosci points out, however, that while there is much speculation about Leonardo, his vision of the world is essentially logical rather than mysterious, and that the empirical methods he employed were unusual for his time. Healthy eating contributes to looking and feeling better about yourself. Habits formed in teen's younger years will probably roll-over into their adult years; therefore, it is important that they form proper nutritional habits early on.
Assignment:
For 3 days, record your daily food intake in a Food Journal. Try to approximate how much of each item you eat by comparing it to a serving size. After the 3 days, read the article "Healthy Eating: Rules for Cheating on Diet" and try to modify your intake according to the techniques for the next 2 days; continue to record your intake in your Journal. Once your 5-day Journal is complete, go back and identify which category each item fits in according to the "What You Should Eat" Pyramid. Lastly, view the video "Healthy Eating for Teens" and take into consideration a few of the recommendations as you reflect on your weekly intake. Were you eating the right foods in the suggested proportions? Would you eliminate any food(s) from your diet and replace them with something more healthy? Write a one-page reflection on your eating experience and be sure to reference any suggestions given in the video, article and/or image.
